A co-operative is a member-owned and controlled business which operates on co-operative democratic and financial principles.

To start a co-operative in Ontario under the Co-operative Corporations Act, you will need to:

  • Determine if you will incorporate with or without share capital
  • Complete article of incorporation forms
  • Pay the required fees
