Small businesses — if you never give up, you never fail

April 15, 2013 - Tags: Entrepreneurship Marketing

Your small business is innovative, special, and worthy of success. With all of the work you've done to get this far, you owe it to yourself to keep on going, even when it may seem easier to give up.

Here are some tips to help keep you on track.

Take a look at your current marketing strategies

Marketing can play a big role in success. Look at the various media outlets at your disposal.

Paid marketing

No-cost/low-cost marketing

Whether you are using these strategies currently or are thinking about experimenting with them in the future, it is always helpful to stay informed. Using interactive techniques such as fill-in-the-blank picture captions on Social media sites sites, creating an engaging and knowledgeable business social media, or advertising your services to reach a wider audience will help you to connect with your customers and establish a rapport for the future.

Analyze key performance indicators

Key performance indicators reflect the way you measure the success of your business, and usually vary by industry. What seem to be your weak areas? Once you understand the areas that need some work, you can formulate an action plan to remedy the situation.

Start a feedback campaign

This enables you to see exactly what your customers want; what works, and what doesn't.

  • Put a comment box at the bottom of your business' website
  • Allow for customers to send you an email or submit a comment card
  • Make it known through marketing that you're looking for customer feedback

Through this Marketing and sales and input, you can then determine what course of action you would like to take.

It is key to remember that your business has gotten this far, and your hard work, passion, and persistence will pay off.
