Orlando is calling women exporters

June 29, 2017 - Tags: Export Events

This guest blog post is provided by the Business Women in International Trade (BWIT), a program celebrating its 20th anniversary within the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) at Global Affairs Canada, which supports Canadian women entrepreneurs as they pursue opportunities in international markets.

Do you have a Canadian woman-owned enterprise? Are you ready to take your business to the next level and begin exporting or expand your exports to grow your market share? Now you have a wonderful opportunity to join a Government of Canada-led Trade Mission to the Go for the Greens Business Development Conference in Orlando, Florida from September 13-16, 2017. This will be 4th year that the Business Women in International Trade (BWIT) program at Global Affairs Canada has led a trade mission to the Go for the Greens conference.

The conference is a high-level, boutique event that offers exclusive access to corporations and government agencies interested in doing business with women-owned businesses. These are the corporations you want to meet - they have supplier diversity programs to ensure that they are being inclusive in their supply chain practices in sourcing goods and services from suppliers of diverse backgrounds. Supplier diversity programs help women access valuable networks, globalize, and grow their businesses, thereby enhancing their contribution to Canada's economy.

The trade mission to the Go for the Greens conference will offer one-on-one business matchmaking meetings, educational programming, valuable networking, on the ground support from trade commissioners, a Canada 150 reception and a golf networking event! It is free to join the trade mission, but participants must register for the Go for the Greens conference and pay their own travel and hotel costs. However, delegates have an opportunity to apply for a conference scholarship which will cover the full conference registration cost and the golf networking event.

There are many benefits to joining a trade mission which include connecting to an international group of like-minded business women; being exposed to new ideas and trends in the marketplace; and, most importantly, coming away with new business connections and leads.

We encourage you to visit our trade mission webpage for more information about the trade mission, the Go for the Greens conference and how to register! This boutique event is limited to 350 participants and the deadline for matchmaking or B2B meetings is August 9, 2017 and deadline for the scholarship application is August 25, so be sure to register soon to help take your business to the next level!
