Action Entrepreneurship: Helping young entrepreneurs thrive
This guest blog post is provided by Futurpreneur Canada, a non-profit organization dedicated to fueling young enterprise in Canada through its financing, mentoring and resources.
Are you a young entrepreneur looking to build your skills, network with peers and supporters and help make the social, political, regulatory and economic environment in Canada even more conducive to starting and growing a business? You can do all that and more through Futurpreneur Canada's flagship event series, Action Entrepreneurship.
Now in its third year, Action Entrepreneurship brings together leaders from the entrepreneurial, business, academic, government and non-profit communities to take action to advance entrepreneurship through regional events and a national summit.
Building momentum and support
Action Entrepreneurship kicked off in 2014, bringing together more than 1,000 young entrepreneurs and other leaders from across the country through a series of events. The resulting document, Unlocking the Power of Youth Entrepreneurship: An Action Plan for Canada, outlines more than 80 specific recommendations for all stakeholders on how to support and expand youth entrepreneurship.
In 2015, Action Entrepreneurship participants came together to discuss the best ways to maximize growth for entrepreneur-led business. Following our event series that year, Futurpreneur Canada released the Action Entrepreneurship Guide to Growth which identifies key barriers to growth and stakeholder-specific recommendations to overcome them.
Action Entrepreneurship Link, set for release in May 2016, is an online inventory of programs, activities and events in Canada that can help you launch and grow a successful business, based on the needs and recommendations of young entrepreneurs identified through Action Entrepreneurship.
